Sparkling Olive

When I made this sparkling necklace, I used three different shades of green that match and have a tone on tone effect. The bigger Swarovski crystals look like green olives, the smaller ones look like the green of young leafs. The third shade of green seems to catch a rainbow by its special aurora borealis coating. I believe that this amazing coating is a very beautiful addition to a crystal, so I use these crystals to add a bright highlight to my jewellery.
The vintage silver tassel completes the design of the "Sparkling Olive" necklace.
By the way, the green and silver in this necklace work for any season.

Aquatic Dazzlelight

Last night I made this fresh and inspiring necklace that has an amazing dazzle.
The Swarovski crystals have a fresh and minty colour
and match perfectly with the vintage turquoise beads.
The handmade turkish silver bead and the tassel feature the necklace.
This necklace has a sporty look by its colours that are very pure
and is certain to look great with many outfits.

Arabesque...

A few years ago I saw this wonderful book and I truly fell in love with the cover.
The title...Arabesque;
the colours, turquoise and gold;
the food, just yummy...
I wanted to own this book.
I had to own my own Arabesque.
This delightfully written book makes you want to cook every recipe and it takes you on a journey through Morocco, Turkey and Lebanon.
Every recipe is really inspiring.
If you love oriental cuisine,
this book is a must !

Harem´s Gold

This bracelet is titled "Harem´s Gold", because it has a majestic look. The copper wire is coloured antique gold, that I knitted without using any pearls or crystals in the center. It was a little difficult to knit as even as possible to get this effect. I placed Swarovski crystals on both sides of the bracelet. So the crystals sparkle like little cranberries.

Simply elegant

I believe that a woman should wear her jewellery, the jewellery should not wear her. A necklace for example is a very important fashion element and can finish a look to perfection. Jewellery can make or break an outfit. Most outfits do not need much accessorizing, but picking the right necklace looks very charming. This silver necklace is elegant and sophisticated and beautifies most basic outfits and colours. Always remember when to choose jewellery, to choose what you feel comfortable with.

Take a tea-break

Now it´s time for a tea-break,
have a seat and enjoy a delicious turkish apple tea.
I love the outdoor cafes where you can relax and have your tea while playing backgammon.
Wanna try ?

A book about balconies...

Finally it has arrived!! I ordered this amazing book about balconies in june, but had to wait some weeks to hold it in my hands. Oh, this book is full of lovely pictures that show different types of balconies in Istanbul. Some have tiny ornaments, others are very impressive wooden ones, some are painted in bright colours, others are very old and you can not recognize any colour. I love books that make you forget everything, just because the pictures are so stunning and there is always a new detail to see. Oh, I am so happy !!!

Turquoise and Blue...

Here you can see my extra large ceramic plate which I had to buy at the Grand Bazaar. It has tiny tulips which represent an Ottoman period and wonderful ornaments. I fell in love with the mixture of white, turquoise and blue. The plate has a majestic, but also a very fresh look.
The blue necklace and the earrings are titled "Sultanahmet Blue", because the colour of the handmade czech beads reminded me of the ceramics in the Blue Mosque which is in Sultanahmet/Istanbul.
The turquoise necklace looks very cool for summer and is very pure. Turquoise looks great on every skin tone, because it adds lively sophistication.

Impressions II

Sometimes we need some inspiration and do not know where to get some.
For those times, you might enjoy a couple of pictures.
These are some pictures I took at the Grand Bazaar.
For some people, the tons of gold and jewellery are the best and the most interesting.
Others are more interested in leather or carpets.
I love the little details, colours and objects.
I am fascinated by different materials.
Copper, brass, ceramics and glass can be in perfect harmony.
So why not let some colour and different materials into your home ?
